Details

Eons ago, the ocean floor rose as the coastal plates collided, forging the tall peaks surrounding our sustainably farmed Margarita Vineyard on the historic Santa Margarita Ranch. Over time, these same geologic forces blessed us with five distinct soil zones - ancient sea bed, sedimentary, shale, volcanic and granitic - that bring profound flavor and complexity to our wines. Our 2010 Zinfandel offers round, juicy flavors of black cherry and raspberry with hints of peppery spice. Recommended pairings include grilled trip-tip steak, wood-fired pizza and chicken fajitas. - Doug Filipponi, co-owner. - Karl Wittstrom, co-owner. - Rob Rossi, co-owner. SIP certified. www.ancientpeaks.com. Alc. 15% by vol. Produced and bottled by Ancient Peaks Winery Creston, California.
